About Attorney JohnPaul Callan

​

JohnPaul Callan is the Founder and Principal Attorney of The Callan Law Firm, P.C. Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2011, he has dedicated his practice exclusively to immigration law for more than a decade.

​

Since founding the firm in 2013, Attorney Callan has represented individuals and businesses in employment-based immigration matters, including EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, H-1B, and L-1 petitions, adjustment of status applications, J-1 No Objection Waivers, and consular processing cases. Known for his strategic counsel, he helps clients navigate complex U.S. immigration pathways with clarity and efficiency.

Prior to focusing on immigration law, Attorney Callan practiced bankruptcy and commercial law at The Meiburger Law Firm, P.C., where he represented Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 Trustees, debtors, and creditors in matters ranging from turnover motions and stay relief to adversary proceedings. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in international trade and maritime law through clerkships at Porter Wright Morris Arthur, LLP and Cartner & Fiske, LLC, contributing research on NAFTA, Customs law, and maritime legal issues.

Attorney Callan earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law in 2011 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Binghamton University. He has been recognized as a Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2017 through 2023.

​

In addition to his practice, Attorney Callan is a published legal author, with works appearing in respected journals such as the DePaul Journal for Social Justice, Capital University Law Review, and Mississippi College Law Review, where he has written on immigration, consular nonreviewability, and federal preemption.
